TikTok has over 800 million monthly active users, whereas Instagram is ahead with its 1 billion active users. Recently, Instagram launched a new feature called the Reels. A team from Instagram has been working on this feature for over a year. Initially, they tested it in Brazil last November. Using Reels, you can record 15-second videos and add music, gifs, and text to those videos. And, you can share Reels to your followers. Tessa Lyons-Laing, (Instagram's Reels director) said that “We think Reels is a really big part of the next chapter of Instagram.” In addition to it, he said, “We think Reels is going to be an amazing way for the community to express themselves, connect and be entertained.” According to Instagram, in the previous month, 45% of active Instagram users have uploaded 15 seconds videos on the feed. So, it indicates that the demand for this kind of content on Instagram is more. To make Reels, access the camera section on Instagram and swipe through the Reels option. Select a popular song that you want to add to your 15-second video. You can even add your own audio to it. You have time control options and filters as well. Add them as you love. During experiments, Reels would be live in Stories only. You can also showcase your creations directly on your feed. The Reels section on Instagram will be similar to TikTok. Reels is a part of Instagram and people in 50 countries, including the US, UK, India, Brazil, France, Germany, and Japan can use it after updating the Instagram app.
